Digital Educational Practices of Students 

The research project reconstructs students' practices in dealing with digital technologies and asks which digital practices exist for their studies. Digital practices are understood to be those in which the use of digital technologies is incorporated. This research focus is important because digital technologies have become part of students' everyday life. However, little is known about how digital technologies are actually used for studying - if they are used for studying at all - and whether digital practices have developed in the course of study. Although there are various studies on the ownership and use of digital media (Steffens, Schmitt & Aßmann 2018), they do not focus on actual digital practices. In Bourdieu's sense, digital practices are an expression of habitus, which is why it can be assumed that the appropriation of digital practices is linked to the capital and milieu of students. In this respect, the study examines the extent to which digital technologies could contribute to (new) social inequalities in the educational system.
