The DZHW Graduate Panel 2009 is part of the DZHW Graduate Survey Series, which compiles information on study, career entry, career development and further qualifications of higher education graduates using standardised surveys. The first Graduate Panel was... more created in 1989. Since then, every fourth graduate year (cohort) has been surveyed. For each graduate cohort, a series of survey waves are carried out, with each wave occurring at differing time intervals following the completion of degree. The DZHW Graduate Panel 2009 comprises the sixth graduate cohort of the survey series. Similar to the 2005 cohort, the study phase of the 2009 cohort is defined by the transformation of higher education through the Bologna Process as well as the changed labour market conditions due to the economic and financial crisis in 2008. In contrast to preceding graduate cohorts, a large number of Bachelor graduates were surveyed in addition to graduates of traditional courses of study. As a methodical innovation, the second survey wave for the 2009 cohort was conducted online for the first time. In addition to the main survey, the second survey wave includes two in-depth surveys on the topics „doctorate“ and „regional mobility“. The third wave of the survey, which was also conducted online, also consists of a main survey and two in-depth surveys on the topics of "mobility/job content" and "reconciling work and family life," although only the data from the main survey has been made available for secondary use to date. less

The DZHW Graduate Panel 2013 is part of the DZHW Graduate Study Series, which uses standardised surveys to gather information on the studies, career entry, career development and further qualification of university graduates. The first Graduate Panel was c... moreonducted in 1989, since then every fourth graduate cohort has been surveyed. For each cohort of graduates, several waves of interviews are conducted, each wave taking place at different intervals from the time of graduation. The 2013 Graduate Panel is the seventh cohort of graduates in the study series. Even more than the graduate cohorts of 2005 and 2009, the study phase of the 2013 cohort is characterised by the changes in higher education within the framework of the Bologna Process and changes with regard to the comparability of degrees and the resulting changes in mobility. The career entry phase of the 2013 graduate cohort is characterised by an upswing after a severe depression as a result of the economic and financial crisis in 2008. In contrast to previous cohorts, persons with traditional degrees (Diplom or Magister) are no longer part of the sample in the 2013 cohort. (Exceptions exist for certain degree programmes in individual federal states which continue to award a Diplom degree). less

The DZHW Graduate Panel 2005 comprises the fifth graduate cohort of the survey series. In contrast to preceding graduate cohorts, the study phase of the 2005 cohort is defined by the transformation of higher education through the Bologna Process. With respect to this academic structural reform, a significant number of Bachelor graduates were surveyed for the first time in addition to graduates of traditional courses of study. Only graduates of subjects with a large number of graduates were considered. In addition to the changing academic environment, the graduate cohort 2005 also faced different labour market conditions than previous cohorts, whereby the beginning of the economic and financial crisis in 2008 marks their career entry. less
