New professional roles? Competency and task profiles in IT-supported research reporting. Quantitative survey of the DZHW project BERTI. 

The population consisted of all persons responsible for research reporting at universities (universities, technical colleges, art and music colleges according to the classification of the German Rectors' Conference) and at the non-university research institutions of the four large scientific communities.

The sample was generated in two ways: Firstly, individual contacts and functional addresses at the institutions concerned were contacted. Secondly, members of selected organisations in the research field were invited via mailing lists. The participation of several people from the same organisation was permitted and desired. Due to the sampling design, the population cannot be specified precisely.
