The dataset contains variables that describe the processes of cooperation in DFG research clusters, the problems that arise in the process, and the subjective assessment of the success of the cluster from the perspective of researchers. The reference point of the web survey was collaboration at the cluster level, i.e. collaboration between the spokespersons and the Principal Investigators (PIs). In the context of the web survey, the term "collaborative level" was understood to mean the level of research networks at which the network management and the principal investigators work together across subprojects to achieve the common goals of the network. Collaboration within the subprojects, on the other hand, was not the subject of the survey.
