Population:

The population of the DZHW Graduate Panel 2013 consists of all graduates who obtained a first higher education degree qualifying for employment or a Master's degree at a state-recognised higher education institution (HEI) in Germany in the examination year 2013 (winter semester 2012/2013 and summer semester 2013). This includes all Bachelor's, Master's, State Examination and artistic degrees. Excluded from the population are persons who have completed their studies with a Diplom or Magister degree. Exceptions exist for certain courses of study in individual federal states which continue to conclude with a Diplom degree. In addition to Diplom and Magister graduates, the population also excludes those persons who obtained their degree at one of the HEIs of the Bundeswehr (German Federal Armed Forces), at Universities of Applied Administrative Sciences (Verwaltungsfachhochschulen), Universities of Cooperative Education (Berufsakademien) and at specific HEIs exclusively for professionals. Also excluded are graduates of dual and part-time study courses as well as correspondence courses and online study courses.
