Data Package Description

The project 'Pathways of Refugees to German Universities', in short: WeGe, was funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) from April 2017 to March 2021 as part of the funding line 'Study Success and Study Dropout I'. The project investigated the challenges faced by refugee prospective students in preparing for university and the factors that influence whether preparation for university succeeds and a transition to higher education is completed. Data from the three substudies (2x qualitative, 1x quantitative) were published in separate data packages.
The present data package contains 13 scientific transcripts of expert interviews with study preparation staff at selected preparatory colleges and universities in Germany. The topics of the interviews included the experiences with study preparation for refugees in comparison to study preparation for other international study applicants.
