Data Package Description

The project 'Pathways of Refugees to German Universities', in short: WeGe, was funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) from April 2017 to March 2021 as part of the funding line 'Study Success and Study Dropout I'. The project investigated the challenges faced by refugee prospective students in preparing for university and the factors that influence whether preparation for university succeeds and a transition to higher education is completed. Data from the three substudies (2x qualitative, 1x quantitative) were published in separate data packages.
The present data package contains the data from the quantitative sub-study. Data were collected by means of questionnaires at selected preparatory colleges and universities in Germany. The study participants were invited to take part in two repeat surveys in online mode. Topics included study preparation learning, learning success, aspects of integration, and well-being. The data package includes the associated longitudinal data set.
